Career Development

We understand that promoting personal and career development in a supportive environment is essential to getting the best from our health care professionals. This is achieved by providing:

  • an extensive range of mental health settings;
  • preceptorship for newly qualified nurses;
  • low patient to nurse ratios;
  • comprehensive induction;
  • training opportunities;
  • appropriate study leave and budget;
  • regular appraisal and feedback;

We employ a range of clinical staff, including RMNs, Staff Grade Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nursing Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Therapists

We also employ a full complement of administrative and accounting staff, catering and maintenance staff.

We encourage Consultant Psychiatrists to enjoy practising privileges with Cygnet. Each hospital has 24 hours, 365-day consultant cover.

We have twice been recognised by The Nursing Times as a top nursing employer and we endeavour to recruit dedicated individuals that will assist in maintaining our high standards.

More on our excellent employee benefits.
