We are delighted to announce that Woodrow House, our new specialist residential home for adults with learning disabilities, is due to open in January 2019 and we are now accepting referrals.

The service will offer a nine bed home that consists of five self-contained apartments configured to meet the needs of the residents in single occupancy or a four bed home with communal living areas.

Woodrow House will offer personalised accommodation with spacious communal areas, an enclosed outdoor garden and easy access to local amenities.

Located in the suburbs of Heaton Moor in Stockport, the home is within close proximity to local services and amenities, including major transport links.

Resident profile:

  • Adults, aged 17+
  • Primary diagnosis of learning disability accompanied with challenging behaviour including mental illness, co-morbid substance misuse or a forensic background
  • May have autism or Asperger’s syndrome requiring highly structured and / or modified stimuli environments
  • We do not accept people detained under the Mental Health Act
  • We support people on the following sections: 7 (Guardianship), 17 (Planned/authorised leave), 117 (Aftercare arrangements), 25 (Supervised discharge) and a Community Treatment Order (CTO) or DoLS
