Trinity House praised in latest Care Inspectorate report

Some of the team at Trinity House celebrating their Care Inspectorate review

Well done to the team at Trinity House who have received glowing feedback on the service following their latest inspection from the Care Inspectorate with the report praising the service for the ‘significant strengths in how the service was run’.

Located in the heart of a residential community in Lockerbie, Trinity House is a specialist residential service with nursing, supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

The latest inspection was an unannounced inspection on 28th and 29th June 2022. The inspection was focused on two of the five Quality Inspection Framework evaluations – ‘How well do we support people’s wellbeing?’ and ‘How good is our leadership?’ Following the inspection they were rated as ‘Good’ and ‘Very Good’ respectively.

The full report, published on the Care Inspectorate website, highlights many areas of positive practice, including:

  • Staff knew residents well and this helped them to notice subtle changes in health which could be hard for others to evaluate.
  • Residents were encouraged to keep fit and the inspector saw examples of people going out to play football, tennis, doing exercise classes and going for walks.
  • Residents could regularly take part in shopping, preparing, cooking and growing food.
  • There were regular trips out to visit friends and family and overnight stays took place.
  • Residents were connected to the local community and not isolated.
  • There were regular celebratory events to mark personal, local as well as national occasions. This helped maintain connections with the community.
  • Quality assurance systems had improved since the previous inspection and provided robust overview of service performance.

Kirsty Dale, Service Manager, said, “I am so happy and proud of my team and what they have achieved. It is great to see them being recognised for the amazing care, support and passion they display every day.”
