Trinity House Fundraising Success

Recently the team at Trinity House, our residential learning disability service in Lockerbie, held a fundraising event in the community. The event raised money for The Alan Shearer Centre in Newcastle. The centre provides sensory rooms and a hydrotherapy pool that the people we support at Trinity House use regularly.

The people we support at Trinity House wanted to raise money for the centre that they enjoy so much. They started planning the event back in December, with help from activity coordinator Lorraine Platt and the rest of the Trinity House team.

The residents led a coffee and craft event at their local church hall, running all of the stalls and raffles themselves. Everyone seemed to really value the experience and want to arrange another one as soon as possible.

George, one of the people Trinity House supports, said, “We raised a lot of money and I enjoyed helping out.”

Ann Marie, one of George’s co-workers on the day said, “I loved working in the kitchen, helping to wash the dishes and putting all the lovely cakes on the cake stands.”

Richard, who was also working at the event said, “I enjoyed selling our homemade crafts and cards and meeting people.”

Well done to everyone at Trinity House who got involved – the event raised over £700 for The Alan Shearer Centre – what an awesome achievement!
