Cygnet Hospital Taunton’s Scarecrow Festival

On Tuesday 16th August service users across all wards at Cygnet Hospital Taunton had a lot of fun creating scarecrows. It is a tradition in local nearby villages to make and put out scarecrows around this time of year. Service users went out in the mini bus to see the scarecrows in the local area to get inspiration for their own.

The theme was nursery rhymes and we had a fab Mr and Mrs Dumpty and Little Bo Peep to name just a few. Service users came to the courtyard to enjoy ice lollies in the sun and to admire the work done by the different wards. Sadly there were a few gusts of wind which blew off Mrs Dumpty’s head but this was quickly put back on.

Glenys, the hospital’s general manager, was asked to pick a winner but as they were all so good she did not feel she could just pick one and awarded everyone first prize!

Thank you to all the staff and service users for their efforts and for making such fab scarecrows.
