Staffordshire Supported Living shortlisted as a finalist in the Great British Care Awards

Congratulations to the team at Staffordshire Supported Living who have been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award’ category in this year’s Great British Care Awards for the West Midlands.

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards are to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

The Staffordshire Supported Living service opened in May 2018 and since this time the team have successfully transitioned 10 individuals out of hospital settings, in line with the Transforming Care agenda, working in partnership with the local CCG to enable these individuals to live in their own homes within the local community.

The individuals the team support are encouraged to integrate into the local community and there are many fantastic examples of the progress they have made since commencing their journeys with us. One gentleman whilst in hospital, mainly used to walk down the corridor to use a vending machine, he now visit the barbers, supermarkets, local pubs and is supported for regular home visits to his elderly mum’s home.

“It really is a very special place, not only for the people who live there but also for our staff teams whose dedication, passion and commitment has made this service what it is. I couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved and the independence we have given back to the people we support.”Cate Ball, Regional Manager

The best of luck to the team for the Judging Day which will be held virtually on 9th December 2020 with the winners being announced at a Gala Dinner on 14th May 2021.
