The website is an important step in signposting the work carried out by the network of nine regional Recovery and Outcomes Groups and the National Recovery and Outcomes Steering Group. The regional groups, which meet quarterly, provide staff and service users with a unique opportunity to get together and share best practice. The fundamental principle behind these groups is that service users have a voice and through these groups they are able to influence and inspire others to improve the experience of those in secure care.

“It is a privilege to be able to support Ian in the development of this website and with the work that he carries out through the Recovery and Outcomes Groups. The new website brings together a whole host of information and resources that those using or working in secure services can access easily.”David Cole, Chief Executive Officer, Cygnet Health Care

Ian, who was recently presented with a Mental Health Heroes award by Nick Clegg the Deputy Prime Minister, for his extensive and tireless efforts to improve the lot of those in secure services, said: “We’re delighted to have had the support of Cygnet Health Care in developing the Recovery and Outcomes website – I’m not sure we’d have been able to launch it without this help.

The website will make it so much easier for people to learn about Recovery and Outcomes and download the My Shared Pathway materials and videos – including the one filmed at Cygnet Kewstoke. We’re hoping to develop the site further to showcase all the creative things going on in secure services – it’ll be so good to give recognition to service users, just as the National Service User Awards do. So thank you Cygnet Health Care for making this all possible!”
