Ranaich House supporting more residents with therapeutic earnings

The team at Ranaich House, our residential service in Dunblane, are always looking to upskill the residents ready for a future move into the community.

Earlier this year we featured a story about two residents who were enjoying the benefits of the therapeutic earnings programme at the service, the team worked with John and Steven, looking at their skills and what roles were available in the house that would suit them, John became the house postman and Steven the kitchen porter. Both men are doing really well in their new positions.

As a result, the team have been helping more individuals to gain employment. Three more of the residents at Ranaich House have now been appointed new roles within the house, one being a gardener and two as domestic workers. One of the domestic workers, Jonathan, is pictured above. All the individuals are enjoying their new responsibilities and eagerly await their payslips and wages each week.

Kirsty Dickson, activity co-ordinator at Ranaich House said, “All the therapeutic jobs within the house so far have been very successful. All the residents that have one appear to really enjoy and take pride in the work they do within Ranaich House. Having a job for them is a great sense of achievement and helping them rehabilitate to help them move on to their own place. Each working towards different goals. We look forward to employing more individuals in the future.”
