Cygnet’s Expert by Experience Lead features in video for the Equality and Human Rights Commission

Raf Hamaizia, Cygnet Health Care's Expert by Experience Lead, has recently been at the forefront of a campaign by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) for Mental Health Awareness Week. The campaign, 'Putting mental health at the top of the agenda', features a number of video testimonials by experts by experience, including Raf, talking about their experiences of detention under the Mental Health Act.

Mental Health Awareness Week – What is stress?

This week it is Mental Health Awareness Week and the focus this year is on stress. In the first of two articles, Pam Palfreyman, Cygnet’s Occupational Health Group Lead, looks at what stress is, work-related stress and signs and symptoms of stress. The Chair of Health Education England visits Cygnet Hospital Derby

Sir Keith Pearson, the Chair of Health Education England, recently visited Cygnet Hospital Derby to find out more about the education opportunities that Cygnet offer to their staff, especially the HCA student Nurse sponsorship, Cygnet’s new preceptorship programme and the trainee nursing associate scheme.

Hope Virgo, Expert by Experience and author of 'Stand Tall, Little Girl', recently visited Cygnet Hospital Ealing to speak to service users and staff about her experiences of having an eating disorder and her subsequent recovery journey.

Cygnet Health Care announce completion of CMA process

The last week saw a pivotal moment within Cygnet Health Care. The sale of The Limes Hospital, previously run by CAS Behavioural Health, to Elysium Healthcare was approved by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), bringing to a close the CMA process relating to the merger of Cygnet Health Care and the Adult Services Division of the Cambian Group.

Cygnet Hospital Woking achieves ‘Good’ rating with CQC

We are delighted to announce that, following an inspection on 20-21 February 2018, Cygnet Hospital Woking has been rated Good in all areas by CQC, joining Cygnet Lodge Woking, which was also awarded a Good status in all areas in 2017.

Cygnet Hospital Bury visit the Premier League

The Occupational Therapy team at Cygnet Hospital Bury are always looking for ways to improve sports provision for those living with mental health problems. Over the last 12 months Ben Baker, OT Assistant and the rest of the OT team have been supporting patients to attend Burnley FC in the Community.

Cygnet Health Care partner with the University of Wolverhampton to train qualified nurses

Cygnet Health Care are partnering with the University of Wolverhampton to create a new generation of highly skilled future nurses. Cygnet’s collaboration with the University of Wolverhampton will be the first to introduce Nursing Associate Apprenticeships into the independent sector.

20th anniversary celebrations for Cygnet Hospital Blackheath

On Thursday 22nd March a special lunch was held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Cygnet Hospital Blackheath. The lunch was well attended by service users and staff, including some team members who have moved on to other roles within Cygnet and who came back to Blackheath especially for the occasion.
