New supported living development in Birmingham opening in Spring 2020

We are pleased to announce that we will be opening a brand new supported living scheme in Birmingham.

Designed to a high specification, these supported living apartments are situated in the Bordesley Green area and will offer homes with onsite support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.

The service will consist of sixteen self-contained apartments each with their own garden. Individuals will be supported to hold their own tenancy agreement with Halo housing, a registered housing association. Tenants may have previously been in a hospital setting and be ready for a step down placement within the local community.

Cygnet Health Care are experienced in supporting individuals who may need support to choose where they live and would work closely alongside our commissioning partners to ensure that correct legal frameworks are in place in order for them to live successfully in the community.

We will work closely alongside each individual to build a picture of how they wish to live their lives, documenting goals and dreams and working alongside them to achieve these.

Each tenant would be allocated an experienced and consistent staff team and training would be bespoke to individual support needs which enables tenants to live as independently and safely as possible.

Offering experienced, trained staff twenty-four hours a day, the service will benefit from a core staffing team of four support workers shared between the sixteen apartments. It is also envisaged that initially tenants will require additional 1:1 staffing of at least 49 hours a week.
