The team at Tabley House Nursing Home were delighted today to accept delivery of a brand new minibus to use for trips for residents. Cygnet Health Care’s CEO Dr Tony Romero made a special visit to officially hand over the keys to Registered Manager Karen Lynskey and ‘cut the ribbon’ on the new vehicle.

The new minibus is the best in its class and has been custom-built for the needs of Tabley residents. It seats up to eight as the vehicle is spacious and extremely comfortable. The minibus is also fitted with the latest technology such as Sat Nav, reversing camera, parking sensors, heating, and air-conditioning throughout.

The minibus can safely and comfortably transport up to three wheelchair users. With an electric rear ramp and wheelchair clamps, it allows our wheelchair bound residents the ability to go out into the community for trips and events, as well as any medical appointments. Not only that, when added to our current line of vehicles we have greatly increased our capacity for trips and outings, which we are hopeful can return later this year.

We are also aware of how important it is to manage our carbon footprint, to that end, this vehicle will provide more miles per gallon than any of our current range of vehicles, meaning that we will be using less fuel and thus reducing our output.

After the handover, Karen and Tony spoke with some of the residents for their thoughts. One of the residents said, “It will be so nice in the spring to go back out for afternoon tea at the garden centre”. To which another responded “or maybe out for a pub lunch.”
