In a heart-warming interview, Jodie explains that she first heard of Cygnet Health Care’s Music 2 Empower programme from a member of staff at another service provider. After requesting to be transferred to Cygnet Hospital Ealing, because of this, Jodie continued her passion in music by touring with her band with the support of her psychiatrist who also attended one of her gigs.
Jodie explains: ‘I heard about Music 2 Empower before I came to Cygnet. One of the nurses in my previous hospital mentioned that Cygnet have a Music 2 Empower initiative and that it is something I should look into. So when I came to Cygnet Hospital Ealing and settled down, I was told about it and was completely up for it.”
This episode was particularly touching for Expert by Experience Lead, Raf Hamaizia who explains “When we first started Music 2 Empower at Cygnet, we couldn’t imagine how big it would be become today. Knowing that it is inspiring people far beyond Cygnet services makes Music 2 Empower an important driver in providing hope and opportunities for people across the country, through recovery orientated practices such as music.’
