Hallmark helps all our service users receive a card this Christmas

We are delighted to announce that, thanks to the generosity of Hallmark, all our service users will receive a Christmas card this year.

Rafik ‘Raf’ Hamaizia, Cygnet Health Care’s Expert by Experience Lead, explains how this lovely gesture came about:

“This year I have been going around to different hospitals and meeting with service users all around the country. I came across some people who stated they would get upset when Christmas came around as they would not get any cards. As I promised our lovely Board Level Executive Assistant, Amanda Samuel that she is on my Christmas card list this year, I thought it would be good if everyone gets one.”

“These two things inspired me to approach Hallmark Cards who are an extremely reputable company. I told Hallmark the idea and before I knew it, I had 1000 Christmas cards turn up on my doorstep. Then at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage, we started a production line, which our fantastic Director of Nursing, Julie Kerry was a part of, by the end of the day we had all of the cards signed and separated into packs for hospitals all over the country, to ensure every Cygnet service user received a card this Christmas.”

A special thanks to the following for helping make this come true:

  • Marion and The Hallmark Team for kindly providing the cards.
  • Sally Gendle, Jennifer Beal, Brett Peers, Ignatius Chikambi, Suzanne Turner, Mayowa Soluade and the rest of the staff who took part in the Christmas card production line, helping sign and seal 1000 cards!
  • Rosalyn Mloyi, Julie Kerry and Amanda Samuel get a special shout out for taking part the most in the organisational aspect of things.
