A glitter filled Christmas card competition!

We are delighted to show you the winners of our annual Christmas card competition. People we support in some of our learning disability services were busy throughout November creating some wonderful Christmas cards.

All throughout November the York office has seen glittery and colourful designs being sent in from all around the country. We received over 100 designs, which made the judging the Christmas card competition very difficult!

People we support from around the country were invited to help choose our winners. We held a judging day with Christmas songs, crafts and lots of festive food, with everyone wearing their best Christmas jumpers. Everyone had a fun time creating paper snowflakes, snowmen and tree decorations and took great care in looking at each of the many card designs before voting for their favourites. Congratulations to our five winning designs!

In 4th place was a snowman in a snowstorm, created using white crayon on black paper, which was designed by everyone we support at Willow House.

This was such a tightly contested competition, we had two cards tie for 3rd place! In joint 3rd place was Sean from Cygnet Wast Hills, who came up with a colourful Elvis design, and Gregory from Trinity House’s Rudolph card.

In 2nd place was Annette from Trinity House who made a wonderful 3D wreath with pompoms that everyone loved!

In 1st place was Gregory from Trinity House again, who created an amazingly precise sparkly snowman using different coloured glitters. Well done Gregory!

Congratulations to everyone who took part – it was a fantastic day and each design was brilliant. A special well done goes to our winners. All five of our winners have had their cards printed and sent to each of our services to post out to friends, families, commissioners, social workers and other contacts. The original cards are decorating the York office, making the whole place more festive and colourful.
