Gledholt is an enhanced community residential service in Huddersfield providing outcome focused care for adults with learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs.

The full report (published on the CQC website) highlights many areas of positive practice, including:

  • Residents were positive about the care they received. Their comments included, “I like it here” and “It is good here.”
  • Individual’s independence, choice and control was promoted. They were also supported to maintain and develop their skills and competences.
  • Staff were knowledgeable about resident’s needs and carried out their roles effectively.
  • Residents were supported to eat a varied and healthy diet. They were given a choice of what meals they would like.
  • Individuals were supported to live healthier lives through regular access to health care professionals such as their GP or psychologist.
