Service users are contributing to the planning and hosting of each event as well as choosing which charities to raise money for. The first event, which raised money for the mental health charity Mind, took place on 20th February with a quiz created and presented by the service users. A wonderful menu of ‘brain’ food and drinks helped everyone who took part in the quiz. A representative from Mind attended the event and gave a short talk following the lunch and provided encouragement to the service users.
The aim of the project is to provide the service users with enjoyable events whilst developing their confidence through their recovery. A variety of different events are planned including BBQs, movie screenings, sponsored activities and further quizzes. The next event is organised for Friday 13th March and will be raising money for Red Nose Day.
The service users and team at Godden Green are very much looking forward to raising money through the year and to provide some fantastic events ‘For Us & For You’.
