It has a been a busy time in our South health care region for QI in recent weeks with five of our hospitals achieving QI ready status and being presented with their QI ready plaque and folder.

Cygnet’s QI ready programme was set up to support and empower our Health Care and Social Care sites to drive local quality improvement. Some of the key criteria for meeting QI ready status includes compliance within our different courses of QI training, formulating a local QI project, getting involved in their Regional QI forum, signing up to LifeQI and ensuring QI is part of local governance meeting discussions.

A huge congratulations to Cygnet Hospital Godden Green, Cygnet Hospital Ealing, Cygnet Hospital Harrow, Cygnet Hospital Maidstone and Cygnet Lodge Lewisham for receiving this status and for being so engaging with QI at their sites and within their teams.

Active QI projects from across all these sites span a wide range of topics including staff retention and recruitment, healthy eating and physical health, therapeutic engagement within activities and reducing self-harm through sensory interventions.
