First Aid training for service users at Cygnet Raglan House

Service users at Cygnet Raglan House expressed interest in completing a First Aid course in order to increase their knowledge in this subject area. This was arranged and facilitated for eight service users.

Service users were intrigued and enthusiastic throughout the learning. Lorraine, the instructor was excellent, demonstrating First Aid techniques utilising dummies.

Resuscitation, how to treat and prevent burns, bleeding and the Heimlich manoeuvre were some of the areas taught. Service users enjoyed the interactive learning techniques and felt it was helpful and important to learn new skills.

Overall, the 2-hour course made the service users feel more confident and, most importantly, they enjoyed the opportunity to partake in this course.
