Environmental changes at Ranaich House

The team at Ranaich House have been working hard to ensure that the environment is suited to their current residents and that they have the space to accommodate some of the residents’ favourite activities.

The idea came about when one of the residents asked for books and another said they missed going to the library. Thanks to some generous donations from the communities and villages of Doune, Deanston and Dunblane they now have a well-stocked library to visit.

Having a few keen gamers in the house, they team were also inspired to make a games room to promote more social interaction, or “A room where friendships are made and not forced” as described by Eileen, service manager. The residents think it’s great!

They also have a movie room with a wide selection of films for the residents to choose from, one chap in particular uses the room almost every evening, and enjoys sitting on the couch with some popcorn. The favourite films of late have been Mamma Mia and Frozen 2.
