Elton Recovery College students show their creative talents during lockdown

Students at Cygnet Hospital Bury’s Elton Recovery College have been showing their creative talents during lockdown with some fantastic 3D crafts.

Due to the lockdown the Recovery College itself has been closed, however Recovery College staff worked hard to research and develop new creative activities for students to participate in safely whilst on the hospital wards.

They worked with service users to develop the skills to build 3D crafts from templates and drawing patterns. These were then used to make decorative 3D shapes, cards and boxes with which to decorate bedrooms and to make gifts for family and friends.

Just some of the fantastic results can be seen in the photo gallery below (click on the photos to enlarge).

The activities have proved to be very popular with the Recovery College’s students. One student said that the 3D activity sessions had contributed to significant improvement in his mental health. Another student simply said, “Love it, love it, love it… love everything I do in Recovery College sessions.”
