Elston House celebrates Cygnet’s 30th birthday

On Friday 12th October the team at Elston House, our ‘Outstanding’ CQC rated residential service for individuals with autism, held a party for residents and staff to celebrate Cygnet’s 30th birthday.

After a consultation with staff and residents it was decided to celebrate by holding a pizza, pamper and (non-alcoholic) prosecco party.

The pamper session was hosted by aromatherapist Lorraine. Lorraine uses a mixture of therapeutic oils combined with massage which can help to improve psychological and physical wellbeing.

Lorraine also gave the staff a taster session as well which got everyone relaxed and feeling like they were walking on air. Registered manager Jane even took some time off from paperwork to enjoy a well-earned aromatherapy session and a glass of bubbly.

For lunch staff and residents were treated to pizza and Prosecco which was actually delicious flavoured sparkling water served in champagne flutes. The residents absolutely loved having the deputy manager Ella act as the maître d’ pouring the drinks freely for everyone throughout the meal.

Of course no party would be complete without a cake and ours was decorated by a staff member especially to celebrate Cygnet’s 30th birthday and Ella got the honour of the cutting cake ready for everyone to enjoy for dessert.

The party was a great day for staff and residents to celebrate all of the hard work that Cygnet has produced over the past 30 years and everyone at Elston toasted cheers to another 30 years of success.
