Ellen Mhor’s annual Resident Awards

Ellen Mhor, our specialist residential service in Dundee, recently held their annual awards night where they rolled out the red carpet to celebrate the individuals at the service.

In addition to the red carpet there was also some fancy non-alcoholic champagne to enjoy. The first awards of the evening were won by residents at the service who had taken part in the annual Scottish Services Sports Day earlier in the summer.

The following awards were very much person centred to celebrate achievements no matter how big or small. So for example there was an award for ‘The best at making a cup of tea 2020’ and ‘Special bin lady of the year for outstanding contributions to recycle management’. The latter award was for one resident who enjoys collecting old newspapers and plastic bottles in order to take them to the local recycling centre.

Everyone won an award for something that makes them stand out from the crowd and it was great to see every one so happy. There was even an award for ‘Most Recent Newcomer’, this was for a resident who had only moved into the service four days before.

After the awards the service’s Activities Co-ordinator arranged a disco night accompanied by homemade McDonalds using actual McDonalds boxes.

Thank you to everyone who took part and to the team at Ellen Mhor for making the event a success.
