Staff and residents gathered for a small party and a ribbon cutting ceremony which was performed by Anita, one of the residents at Oxley Woodhouse.

The new sensory room came about following a visit by our Expert by Experience Lead, Raf Hamaizia to the Education Project. After chatting with some of the service users and Iain, the Education Manager a plan was put in place to upgrade some existing space into a new sensory room.

Oxley Woodhouse, in Huddersfield, is an enhanced community residential home providing outcome focused care for adults with learning disabilities. The Education Project is situated within the grounds of Oxley Woodhouse but caters to residents from all our residential services in West Yorkshire.
The Education Project offers a diverse range of activities at different learning levels. Residents are able to interact with a number of different resources to aid their learning, within a safe and relaxing environment. The new sensory room was specifically designed to help meet the needs of the learners and has already proven to be a popular addition to the Education Project.
