Children’s ward enjoys Easter Egg Hunt

Children on Ward E39, the children’s cancer ward at Nottingham Children’s Hospital, were able to enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt over the Easter holidays courtesy of the service users at Cygnet Hospital Derby’s Wyvern Unit.

“The children absolutely loved having an Easter egg hunt on the ward, and it really did make them smile. We are so grateful that you have thought of the children at this time. We often get Easter eggs donated but we have never had an Easter egg hunt, and the packs that you brought us ensured we could provide a fun activity for the children. They are often bored in hospital, and through generous donations like this, we are able to entertain the children and take their minds off a very difficult time.”Katie Manning, Ward Sister of Ward E39

The service users of Wyvern Unit nominated Ward E39 as their chosen charity last year and have previously raised £200, through a book and DVD sale, in order to purchase Christmas presents for the children on the ward. The service users next project is to raise the money to be able to purchase some art kits that have been specifically requested for the children on Ward E39.
