Double celebrations at Cygnet Sherwood House

On Wednesday 10th October Cygnet Sherwood House, our specialist high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men near Mansfield, held an event celebrating World Mental Health Day and Cygnet Health Care’s 30th anniversary.

Families were invited on the day to spend time with their loved ones and enjoy a day full of activities. Lunch was provided by a pizza van that was booked especially for the day. There was also a cake stand for afternoon tea.

A stock was set up for service users to throw wet sponges at staff, a tombola and a balloon race. Balloons were released simultaneously, attached to each balloon was a contact number for a member of the public to phone to say it has been found. The winner of the race will be the person whose balloon travelled the furthest!

Professional animal handlers also paid a visit. Setting up in the lounge they gave service users the opportunity to handle a variety of different reptiles and animals.

Finally there was also a photo booth so that everyone could get dressed up for some whacky photos.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was great that service users, their families and the staff team could all celebrate together.
