Cygnet Storthfield House celebrates Cygnet’s 30th birthday in style

In October Cygnet Health Care turned 30 years old. Celebrations have been taking place across the group and on 7th November Cygnet Storthfield House, a high dependency rehabilitation service for men, held an 80’s themed birthday party.

The entire building was decorated with 1980’s memorabilia from Rubik’s Cubes to miniature Troll Dolls. Service users and staff chipped in to help and before too long the building was a true throwback to the 1980’s.

A fantastic buffet was put on complete with sausage rolls, finger sandwiches and a specially prepared 30th birthday cake. Once everyone had enjoyed the various buffet treats and delicacies, many decided to dress up in the various 1980’s themed costumes and accessories provided, meaning everyone could all fit in with the entertainment yet to arrive!

Arriving in style in a Blues Brothers replica car everyone was entertained by a local Blues Brothers tribute band, who sang all the most famous songs from the 1980’s Blue Brothers film. Service users and staff hit the dance floor to dance the night away to classics such as ‘Mustang Sally’ and ‘Shake Your Tail Feather.’

Everyone had a fantastic time and are looking forward to Cygnet’s next big birthday celebration!
