Following the turbulence of COVID, Cygnet St Teilo House have been looking to increase its involvement within the local community in as many ways as possible this year, including volunteering at local beauty spots and linking in with a local community service.

They have recently developed links with a new and upcoming youth rugby team, Abertysswg Falcons RFC. After hearing about how the rugby team offers young people the opportunity to develop skills, make friends and become part of a team in a disadvantaged area, Cygnet St Teilo House saw a great opportunity to get involved and show the community some support by sponsoring them.

Cygnet purchased new kit for the team which was presented by Hospital Manager Byron Mtandabari, alongside some of the service users and Therapy Coordinator, Donna Hughes. The presentation evening went down a storm with both the rugby team and all that attended from Cygnet St Teilo House.

James Sustins, team manager, said, “We are delighted to have Cygnet Health Care on board here at Abertysswg Falcons RFC. All the staff, parents and players here within our under 15’s rugby side are extremely grateful and humbled that a very important local business like Cygnet chose to sponsor us.

“We all appreciate and understand the positive impact your company and staff have on our local community. Thank you for your generosity and hope to welcome you over the forthcoming season to the club, matches and also our events to show our appreciation.”

Located in the village of Rhymney, amid the beautiful Welsh countryside, Cygnet St Teilo House is a 23-bed service specialising in high dependency inpatient rehabilitation for women in a safe and comfortable environment.
