Cygnet St Augustine’s celebrates its 10th Birthday

On Wednesday 5th June guests, including friends, families, local community teams and special guest the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, joined staff and service users in celebrating Cygnet St Augustine’s 10th Birthday.

Cygnet St Augustine’s is a 32 bed specialist high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men. It provides state-of-the-art facilities and a multi-disciplinary treatment programme designed to assist service users with their return to independent living.

For the celebrations the catering team put on a BBQ using produce sourced from a local butcher and bakery. They also baked some cupcakes that went down very well with all those who attended.

There was a raffle with prizes including tickets for Alton Towers, shopping vouchers and a gingerbread bouquet which were given out on the day. DJ decks were set up in the communal area and service users had their turn at playing the music.

Finally there was a cake cutting ceremony of the 10th Birthday cake. The cake was cut by five members of the Cygnet team who have been at Cygnet St Augustine’s since its opening. These included Tracey Laidler (Hospital Manager), Sophie Beech (Head of Care), Jo Carpenter (Cook) as well as Masimba Kamba and Nick Ruffley who have moved on into senior operational roles within Cygnet.

All in all it was a hugely enjoyable event. Thank you to everyone who came and to all those who made it such a success.
