Cygnet Lodge Salford celebrates 1st anniversary

Service users and staff at Cygnet Lodge Salford recently came together to celebrate the service’s 1st anniversary in style.

The atmosphere on the day was truly infectious with a range of exciting events to get involved in. Staff and service users came together to celebrate their achievements over the past year with an award ceremony.

The entrance of the Lodge was decorated with pictures, taking everyone on a walk down memory lane. The Occupational Therapy room was converted into a mystical adventure room where individuals could attend to have tarot card readings.

There were also some touching moments where service users and staff spoke kind words of thanks and reflected on their personal journeys over the last year. There was even some poetry, including this poem from one of the ladies.

“The staff at Cygnet are really kind,
There’s also psychology to help the mind.
There’s music group with instruments too,
Singing and dancing if that is for you.
We can go on walking group, exercise and relax. Staff do their best,
I’m grateful for the place to rest.
We have formed good relationships
We share information and tips.
There’s out and about groups for fun,
Just be on time to go on one!”
Lots of fun and enjoyment was had in “Splatting Staff” where the ladies took delight in catapulting wet sponges in staff’s faces and of course there was plenty of tasty treats available to keep everyone going.

Donna Coyle, Head of Occupational Therapy, said, “Despite the challenging times, everyone still managed to make the most of the day. High Spirts, touching moments, and memories made. Go team Salford!”
