Cygnet Hospital Taunton launch new menu with tasting event

The multi-disciplinary team (MDT) at Cygnet Hospital Taunton joined forces with the hospital’s wonderful kitchen team, to create a new menu that meets nutritional guidelines, and encourages healthy eating.

This menu was launched with a tasting afternoon, which service users, carers, families and staff were invited to, in order to give their much valued feedback.

A few new items were trialled, and to say it was a success is an understatement. A voting system was using green thumbs up and red thumbs down tokens. All the dishes that were trialled were given the thumbs up and were selected by service users, including:

Side salads:

  • Rice Salad
  • Beetroot salad
  • Potato salad (a firm favourite based on Dagmara’s secret recipe)

Main meals:

  • Quesadilla’s (Chorizo and peppers; leek, sweet potato and feta)
  • Quiches (Roasted vegetable; Lorraine; 4 cheese; salmon, asparagus and watercress)
  • Paellas (Mixed Seafood; vegetarian)
