Cygnet Hospital Maidstone celebrates 2nd Anniversary

The team at Cygnet Hospital Maidstone recently celebrated their 2nd anniversary by holding a fun fair themed event for all service users and staff.

Each ward played various games throughout the afternoon including lucky dip, hook the duck, jenga, noughts & crosses, higher or lower and pin the peanut on the elephant. Staff and service users enjoyed a lunch of pizza and hot dogs followed by candy floss and popcorn which was made on site by some of our team!

A year ago service users at Maidstone had written and recorded a song, ‘How Can You Heal a Broken Heart?’ This year, with the help of Fitness Instructor Taigh, a dance was created to this song. Service users and staff performed this towards the end of the day which was recorded.

The anniversary celebrations were also integrated with World Mental Health Day. Service users and staff were encouraged to write positive quotes onto an umbrella supplied by our Carers Lead. A service user from Roseacre Ward also wrote a poem especially for this.

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all service users and staff, and the team are looking forward to what the next 12 months will bring.
