Cygnet Hospital Coventry open for admissions

We are delighted to announce that, following successful registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Cygnet Hospital Coventry has opened its doors to admissions on its women’s PICU and locked rehabilitation wards.

Cygnet Hospital Coventry is a new 56-bed hospital that offers a range of specialist mental health services for women. The two services that are now accepting referrals are Dunsmore Ward, a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Middlemarch Ward, a female locked rehabilitation service.

The PICU service, Dunsmore Ward, will provide high quality and effective, assessment, treatment and support for women in crisis. The ward aims to provide a one-hour response to referrals. A decision on placement will be provided no more than an hour after we receive adequate clinical information.

The aim of Middlemarch Ward is to prepare individuals for more independent living in the community. The service will provide an extremely wide range of therapies and will develop tailor-made rehabilitation programmes in collaboration with carers and local teams.

A third service, a specialist personality disorder service called Ariel Ward will be opening in early May.

To make a referral to either Dunsmore or Middlemarch please contact the hospital on 02476 632898.
