Cygnet Grange and Cygnet Lodge supporting charities at Christmas

Staff and service users at Cygnet Grange and Cygnet Lodge, our two neuropsychiatric services in Nottinghamshire, have been collecting items to donate to two charitable causes to help others at Christmas.

Instead of organising a Secret Santa the two services instead decided to donate gifts to Giving Tree. Giving Tree is an initiative by the charity Kids Out. Giving Tree collects presents for children in unfortunate circumstances like women’s refuges, hostels and orphanages to ensure every child has a gift this Christmas.

In addition to donating gifts to Giving Tree the service users and staff at Cygnet Lodge and Cygnet Grange have also been collecting for the Homeless Shoe Box Appeal. They have filled shoe boxes with essential items like toiletries, food, hats, scarfs, gloves and socks. Staff and service users have also donated bedding, and clothing items.

On Thursday 19th December Team Coordinator Kirsty Airey, Support Worker Amy Lofley and Team Leader Kelly Le Grice will be hitting the streets of Nottingham to hand out shoe box donations to the homeless.
