Cygnet Aspen House’s Spooktacular Celebrations!

Cygnet Aspen House has been taken over by the creative and spooktacular work of Activity Coordinators Emma and Mandy. The two have raised ‘the spirits’ all week in order for everyone to come together for a Halloween celebration.

Last week there was been pumpkin picking/carving and scarecrow making, joined by staff and a service user from Cygnet Aspen Clinic for some fantastic collaborative working. Service users also had a themed budgeting and travel training activity, where they got creative with their budget to select their own Halloween costume from the charity shops in Mexborough.

On Friday, each service user started the morning with their own Halloween bag which included a Halloween themed headband, eye mask, drinking cup and sweets. Emma and Mandy planned a fun day for all with chocolate apple making as well as games such as; dress the mummy, pin the smile on the skeleton, musical statues, spin-aim-throw eyeballs as well as winner of best costumes and most creative costumes for both staff and service users.

The kitchen staff were on hand once again to put on a ghoulish menu of Frankenstein burgers, Bloody fingers and Spaghetti eye balls to name a few. The afternoon saw a disco with more fun and games and of course in true Halloween fashion, lots of sweets!

The Halloween fun lasted over the weekend with Halloween bingo and movies before a Spooky Scavenger hunt on Monday.

“Mandy and Emma always decorate the unit so well, none of the other services I have been to ever did it this well!” – Service user
