Community Support for Cygnet Fountains

The team at Cygnet Fountains would like to give thanks to members of the local community, staff members and family members who have provided support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senior Occupational Therapist, Dominique Wrigley, recognised that staff had lost their normal routine and support networks so adapted the therapy programme to provide extra support. She also decided to reach out to people to see if they could find ways to support the staff team during these difficult times.

Dominique and the team were truly overwhelmed with the response and support they received and wanted to highlight just some of the kindness and generosity from some of the individuals who responded to the appeal.

Firstly, local midwife Bernie Kenyon answered the call by making a selection of head bands to help those wearing PPE. Despite her own challenges as a midwife working on the busy wards during COVID-19, Bernie took the time to help. The team presented Bernie with some gifts to say a big thanks.

Another local hero is entrepreneur Zoe Chapman who raised £115.00 through her online business in order to help the Cygnet Fountains team with face and hand creams. Zoe was also sent some thank you gifts in return from a grateful staff team.

Jo-Ann McCauliffe, Cygnet’s Nurse Assessor Manager, sent in some head buddies for the team which were very much needed and appreciated. Last but not least, receptionist Pippa Formby and her mum Michelle spent their weekend also making head buddies for staff.

The team at Cygnet Fountains would like to say a huge thank you to all of the above and to everyone else who has supported the service over the last few months. It is greatly appreciated.
