Claire and Karen complete 100km Jurassic Coast Challenge

On 8th-9th June two members of the Cygnet Hospital Harrow team, Claire Andrews (Chef Manager) and Karen Frankel (Catering Assistant), took on the two-day 100km Jurassic Coast Challenge Walk to raise money for the charity Mind.

Claire tells the story of the walk:

“We started in Poole, Dorset and battled the high winds and steep hills until we made it to Weymouth 58km later.”

“On the second day we started bright and early at 6am to finish the last 42km of the walk. This was a slightly easier day with less wind and hills and we even had sunshine. We started in Weymouth and walked along the beach with lovely views and peace and quiet.”

“Along the way we did get to see some lovely views making the struggle of the whole event well worth it! About 12 hours and 5 minutes after we set off in the morning we made it and finally got our champagne that felt like it was well deserved!”

“So far we have raised nearly £800 for Mind from our fund raising page and cash deposits and we are still accepting donations through our Just Giving page.”
