Staff collect Christmas presents for local children

Staff from Cygnet Hospital Wyke and Cygnet Lodge Brighouse responded brilliantly to an appeal by a local organisation for Christmas presents for the disadvantaged children in Bradford. In total staff managed to collect 47 presents for children who otherwise would be waking up on Christmas Day morning with nothing to open.

The contribution from staff was part of a wider ‘Secret Santa Appeal’ organised by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) in Bradford. JCI Bradford have been successfully running this appeal since 1989 with the support of many local businesses.

“After the success of the Easter Egg appeal back in March, the JCI approached us to ask if we would support their Secret Santa mini-appeal this year. As I had hoped, staff at Wyke and Brighouse took this appeal to their hearts and dug deep to help out the underprivileged children of Bradford. These children, through no fault of their own, would have otherwise woken up on Christmas Day morning without a present to open. I am truly grateful we could help such a worthy cause and make a child’s Christmas Day that bit better.”Sally Pemberton, Cygnet Hospital Wyke
