Alvaston Ward raises money for selfharmUK

Service users from Cygnet Hospital Derby’s Alvaston Ward recently held a vintage themed tea party to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday and to raise money selfharmUK.

The tea party featured cupcakes, biscuits, cards and bracelets for sale all of which were hand made by the ladies of Alvaston Ward. Other fundraising activities included a blindfolded game of ‘Pin the Crown on the Queen’ as well as a game of pass the parcel with gifts donated by staff.

A huge well done to everyone involved, especially the ladies on Alvaston Ward who raised a total of £90 for selfharmUK. selfharmUK is a charity dedicated to supporting young people impacted by self-harm, providing a safe space to talk, ask any questions and be honest about what’s going on in their life.

Alvaston Ward is a specialist low secure service for women with a primary diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder.
