Congratulations to Irene Ibanda, a registered mental health nurse at Cygnet Acer Clinic in Chesterfield, who has been shortlisted in this year’s Student Nursing Times Awards as a finalist for the Mary Seacole Award for Outstanding Contribution to Diversity and Inclusion.
Well done to the team at Cygnet Hospital Colchester who have seen the hospital’s rating upgraded to ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Significant improvements were identified across all areas and as a result the hospital achieved a ‘Good’ rating in all five key lines of enquiry.
Now that Covid restrictions have been eased the “Get Hooked on Fishing Group” is back at Cygnet Hospital Bury and is as popular as ever. The most recent fishing trip took place in the sunshine at Bradshaw Hall Fisheries, near Bolton, where the group managed a rare barbel catch.
Occupational Therapist and Sensory Integration Practitioner, Tania Amos, has been developing a Lego-building activity to be used therapeutically to support residents and their individuals’ goals.
