Woodrow House is our new community specialist residential home providing outcome focused care for adults with learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs. Woodrow House offers a nine bed home that consists of five self-contained apartments configured to meet the needs of the residents in single occupancy or a four bed home with communal living areas. We offer personalised accommodation with spacious communal areas, an internet café, enclosed outdoor garden and easy access to local amenities. Located in the suburbs of Heaton Moor in Stockport, the home is within close proximity to local services and amenities, including major transport links. Ongoing assessment and high staffing levels means that we are able to meet the changing needs of service users as they progress through their care pathway, while ensuring their safety is maintained and their independence supported. Our part-time multidisciplinary team includes speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, psychology and psychiatry. The management and staff team have comprehensive training, including all mandatory training and bespoke training specific to the needs of the residents, this includes CIS, Safeguarding, food safety, first aid, MAPA, autism, mental health, mental capacity and record keeping. We ensure day-to-day practice is embedded in an overarching framework of support whereby the whole team around the person consciously takes into account the interaction, communication and flexibility of each individual we support. We provide a comprehensive individually tailored care / support plan that is proactively delivered by the whole staff team in an integrated, systematic and consistent manner.
