Trinity House

38 Carlisle Road, Lockerbie, DG11 2DS

Trinity House is a specialist residential service supporting up to 13 adults with a learning disability and complex needs within a structured and therapeutic environment.

Trinity House has 13 en-suite bedrooms in a detached period property set away from the main road. There is a choice of living areas, a bright dining room, an activities room and a life skills kitchen. Outside there is an established garden with greenhouses and seating areas for relaxing with friends. Trinity House also has a “secret garden”; a piece of conservation land that was donated locally to the residents to manage and utilise. The secret garden hosts Trinity House’s annual firework display, as well as barbeques throughout the summer.

The dedicated activity coordinator supports residents to have individual activity plans, which are created based on each person’s likes and hobbies. There is a huge choice of activities on offer, including regular fishing trips, sensory activities at sensory centres, hydrotherapy sessions, table tennis, athletics, football and community outings.

The team at Trinity House are focused on ensuring that residents are part of their local community and can access education, employment and other opportunities to meet their needs. Individuals are supported at local paid and voluntary work placements, as well as at living and vocational skills courses at the local college.

The people at Trinity House may be stepping down from hospital provision or may be people who need a more robust package of care than can be provided in supported living. They may also be on a journey towards a place of their own. Trinity House includes a self-contained two-bed bungalow, which supports those making the move towards more independent living.
