Case Study: Arthur’s Story

Arthur came to The Orchards as part of his care pathway following on from a stay in hospital. Upon Arthur’s arrival at The Orchards, the staff team worked closely with him to help improve his independent living skills. Arthur enrolled in college and gained some qualifications, which built up his confidence to apply for voluntary and paid work. This is something that Arthur always wanted to achieve.

Healthy lifestyles was a big part of Arthur’s care. When Arthur arrived at The Orchards he was a heavy smoker. With support from staff, Arthur attended a smoke free clinic for several weeks until it helped him to give up completely.

Arthur is now planning to move further through his care pathway to supported living. Arthur is looking forward to living independently in his local community and plans to attend catering college, which he sees as a stepping stone to greater things.
