Oxley Woodhouse

Woodhouse Hill, Fartown, Huddersfield, HD2 1DH

Oxley Woodhouse is an enhanced community residential home providing outcome focused care for adults with learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs.

Oxley Woodhouse offers a modern purpose-built residential accommodation with spacious communal areas and an enclosed outdoor garden within a homely family-style environment. It consists of Oxley House which houses one, three bed apartment and two, five bed apartments and Oxley Lodge which houses four, one bed apartments.

Located in the suburbs of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, the home is within close proximity to local services and amenities, including major transport links.

On-going assessment and high staffing levels, based on a minimum ratio of one staff member to two service users, means that we are able to meet the changing needs of service users as they progress through their care pathway, while ensuring their safety is maintained and their independence supported.

Regular review meetings involving the service user, their family and professionals are held to review outcomes, set new goals and re-assess support levels as people progress.

The management and staff team have comprehensive training, including all mandatory training and bespoke training specific to the needs of the residents, this includes CIS, Safeguarding, food safety, first aid, MAPA, mental health, mental capacity and record keeping.

We place individuals at the heart of everything in a partnership arrangement wherever possible. We ensure day-to-day practice is embedded in an overarching framework of support whereby the whole team around the person consciously takes into account the interaction, communication and flexibility of each individual we support.

We provide a comprehensive individually tailored care / support place that is proactively delivered by the whole staff team in an integrated, systematic and consistent manner.

Our community care services are committed to actively enable each and every one of the people in our care to make a positive difference to their lives; however it is defined by them and with them.

We aim to enable individuals to become full citizens in their community, regardless of their learning disability, complex needs and behaviours labelled as challenging.
