Langdale House

56 Gledholt Road, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD1 4HR

Langdale House is an enhanced 8-bed community residential home providing outcome focused care for adults with learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs.

Langdale House offers a modern purpose-built residential accommodation with spacious communal areas, a dedicated activity room and an enclosed outdoor garden within a homely family-style environment. The service accommodates up to eight residents. Located in the suburbs of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, the home is within close proximity to local services and amenities, including major transport links.

On-going assessment and high staffing levels, based on a minimum ratio of one staff member to two residents, means that we are able to meet the changing needs of our residents as they progress through their care pathway, while ensuring their safety is maintained and their independence supported. Regular review meetings involving the resident, their family and professionals are held to review outcomes, set new goals and re-assess support levels as people progress.

The management and staff team have comprehensive training, including all mandatory training and bespoke training specific to the needs of the residents; this includes CIS, Safeguarding, food safety, first aid, MAPA, mental health, mental capacity and record keeping.

Each individual in our care begins an inclusive and personalised pathway of support from the point of access designed to support them to develop the necessary skills to experience or maintain their optimal level of independence.

We aim to enable individuals to become full citizens in their community, regardless of their learning disability, complex needs and behaviours labelled as challenging.
