Kirkside Lodge

1 Spen Lane, Kirkstall, Leeds, LS5 3EJ

Kirkside Lodge is an 8 bed enhanced community residential home providing outcome focused care for adults with learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs.

Kirkside Lodge offers a modern purpose-built residential accommodation with spacious communal areas and an enclosed outdoor garden set in mature woodlands within a homely family-style environment. It consists of one, one bed apartment; two, two bed apartments and one, three bed apartment.

Located in the suburbs of Kirkstall in Leeds, the home is within close proximity to local services and amenities, including major transport links. On-going assessment and high staffing levels, based on a minimum ratio of one staff member to two service users, means that we are able to meet the changing needs of service users as they progress through their care pathway, while ensuring their safety is maintained and their independence supported. Regular review meetings involving the service user, their family and professionals are held to review outcomes, set new goals and re-assess support levels as people progress.

The management and staff team have comprehensive training, including all mandatory training and bespoke training specific to the needs of the residents, this includes CIS, Safeguarding, food safety, first aid, MAPA, mental health, mental capacity and record keeping.

We place individuals at the heart of everything in a partnership arrangement wherever possible. We ensure day-to-day practice is embedded in an overarching framework of support whereby the whole team around the person consciously takes into account the interaction, communication and flexibility of each individual we support.

Our care services are committed to actively enable each and every one of the people in our care to make a positive difference to their lives; however it is defined by them and with them. Our services are dedicated and structured to ensure that each person enjoys the same right to a happy and fulfilled life regardless of their level of support.

We aim to enable individuals to become full citizens in their community, regardless of their learning disability, complex needs and behaviours labelled as challenging.
