Located in a picturesque village, Whorlton Hall is a 17 bed specialist high dependency complex care service providing assessment and treatment for individuals living with a learning disability and complex needs.

The service is a beautiful and spacious detached, grade 2 listed period property, surrounded by stunning countryside in an idyllic village location. The service comprises of three separate elements:

  1. A three bedroomed suite with more intensive support for three men. This suite has a shared lounge and dining room to help promote social skills and independent living skills.
  2. Two individual bespoke apartments, each with an en-suite, a lounge diner and one with its own private art room.
  3. 12 bedrooms, each with their own en-suite, access to specially designed gender specific lounges and a variety of dining areas.

Other facilities include a life skills kitchen, an activities hub for crafts, games and skills sessions, a recreation room with pool and table football, an IT suite and a beauty and aromatherapy room.

Whorlton Hall has a dedicated activity coordinator who supports service users to have individual activity plans, created based on each person’s likes and hobbies. People are supported to plan menus, shop and prepare food with support to increase their daily living skills in readiness for moving on. The service is set in large grounds surrounded by lawns and seating areas. Individuals enjoy using the outdoor sporting equipment including playing games of football and cricket.

Service users have access to weekly visits from the sports coordinator, educational opportunities and volunteer projects, such as dog walking for the local dogs trust. There are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, gain self-confidence and take part in valuable experiences.
