Alison King - Hospital Manager

Alison had always wanted to be a nurse from being a very small girl. Nursing runs in the family. Alison qualified in 1982 and has worked in the NHS for a number of years in various settings, and then moved in to the private sector in 1988. Starting as a staff nurse and moving her way up to being Home Manager/Regional Manager, working for different companies, gaining experience in varied fields from management to crisis management.

Alison is proud and excited to be leading the team at Cygnet St Williams.

Jayne Davies - Senior Staff Nurse

Jayne started her career in care over 20 years ago as a care assistant supporting people with dementia. In 2002 Jayne enrolled at York University to start her nurse training and in 2005 she qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.

In October 2005 Jayne embarked in a full time career in mental health and has now gained experience and knowledge across a wide range of mental health services and has worked in both female and male settings. Jayne progressed into management and has twice been a registered manager with the CQC however in 2018 Jayne decide to go back into full time nursing as this is her passion. Jayne is excited to be part of a new service with Cygnet Health Care.

Poppy Coles - Occupational Therapist

Poppy studied Occupational Therapy at York St. John University where she experienced placements in various settings; palliative care, community physical disability, In-patient mental health rehab, and a primary school. Following graduation she worked for one year in a general hospital setting, including older adults, gastro, respiratory, and general medical wards.

Looking for a role where she could spend more time building rapport with patients and focusing on rehabilitation Poppy joined the team at Cygnet St William’s. Poppy has a strong belief that everyone can have a fulfilling life with the help and support of others. In her role as Occupational Therapist she assists patients to recognise their own potential, being involved in their rehab journey, and seeing them live meaningful lives.

Grace Whitfield - Therapy Coordinator

Grace studied psychology at the University of York, graduating in the summer of 2018. Her degree involved not only studying the brain and its functions, but also how deficits occur, why they occur and behaviours resulting from this. Grace believes her degree study will advance her as a Therapy Coordinator within mental health services, and more specifically, working alongside individuals dealing with Acquired Brain Injury.

Although Grace has not worked within healthcare long, she has 6 years of previous experience working with the and volunteering with youth offenders with challenging behaviours. She has recently enrolled as a volunteer first aider with St. John’s Ambulance, which she is very proud of.

Grace has a passion for supporting and caring for individuals and is excited to be involved in a new and upcoming service, hoping to progress her career further within this field.

Ian Stoker - Domestic Assistant

Prior to joining Cygnet St William's Ian has had experience as a domestic worker in a variety of environments including retail, office and the NHS. Finding the care sector by far the most rewarding Ian joined the team at Cygnet St William's prior to opening in January 2019.

Ian is always looking to build on his knowledge and skills by undertaking training courses. He likes to work on his own initiative and is keen to uphold all relevant health and safety policies.
