Michelle qualified from the University of Nottingham as an RNLD and has 18 years’ experience working in both the NHS and Independent sector across a range of care pathways.
Michelle worked in a Forensic setting for the most part of her career developing a keen interest in Neuropsychiatry where she joined Cygnet Health Care as Registered Manager for the Lodge and Grange Neuropsychiatry services. Keen to keep learning and evidencing her skills, Michelle gained a Leadership and Management certificate through the Open University in 2018.
Sarah completed her Doctorate at the University of Nottingham and has specialised for the last ten years working in secure psychiatric services with adults with a range of complex risks, needs and diagnoses. She has been involved in programme, service, and strategy development ensuring people within the places she works get the right support, based upon their needs.
In addition to her clinical work, she is interested in research, with a portfolio comprising both academic and clinical publications, in addition to national and international presentations. She also enjoys sharing knowledge and provides training to clinical professionals across the country, in addition to inputting into a variety of university programmes.
Pippa works for Cygnet Health Care as a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for the Lodge and Grange in Nottinghamshire. She has five years of experience working with adults with acquired brain injury and mental health difficulties. Previous to this role, Pippa worked with adults with learning disabilities and autism in a residential setting.
As well as completing assessments and interventions for communication, Pippa is dysphagia trained and provides assessment and management of swallowing difficulties in a range of settings.
Joanne joined us in February 2005, initially as a support worker and has progressed to therapy coordinator and OT assistant until fulfilling her aim of becoming a fully qualified Occupational Therapist in 2012. She is a keen advocate for supporting other staff to progress within Cygnet.
Joanne has experience working with individuals with mental illness, learning difficulties and worked with individuals with acquired brain injuries over the past 5 years to successfully rehabilitate towards leading an independent lifestyle in a less restrictive environment through meaningful and purposeful activity. Joanne is also a manual handling assessor and trainer and supports other sites to assist with manual handling and equipment needs for patients, and provide patient specific training.
