Seamus Quigley - Hospital Manager

Seamus is a registered mental health nurse who has worked within the field of psychiatry for over 30 years has amassed a wealth of relevant experience and knowledge of mental health care provision in different settings.

From 2006-2018 Seamus was in the senior team at Cygnet Hospital Harrow, first as Clinical Manager and then Hospital Manager. Seamus joined the team at Cygnet Hospital Woking in April 2018.

Nanday Obace - Clinical Manager

Nanday joined Cygnet Hospital Woking as a Clinical Team Leader in 2015. She rapidly settled in the team and unit. Her hard work and diligence led to her achieving the position of Greenacre Ward Manager soon after. Her passion for her job was displayed by her hard work as she successfully guided her ward and multidisciplinary team through three successive CQC reviews obtaining Good results.

Nanday is highly committed to patient-centred care and safe practice whilst implementing least restrictive practice. Nanday has been consistently recognised by her colleagues and management for her skills, achieving employee of the month and eventually entrusted to fulfil the role of Acting Clinical Manager earlier in 2018.

Having successfully acted in this capacity, she was subsequently confirmed as the new Clinical Manager for Cygnet Hospital and Cygnet Lodge in Woking.

David Pennells - General Manager

David joined Cygnet in 2013 developing a passion for mental health and delivering positive experiences and quality improvement. During this time David has enjoyed working on the wards before becoming the Quality and Compliance Lead prior to his current position of General Manager.

Prior to joining Cygnet David studied Law at degree and post-graduate levels, worked in the NHS, new start businesses and developed a country house hotel.

Dr Richard Church - Medical Director

Dr Church studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and undertook general psychiatric training at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. He trained in child and adolescent psychiatry on the Maudsley rotation, and then in forensic psychiatry at West London Mental Health NHS Trust, subsequently working as a Consultant Psychiatrist and Lead Clinician in the London Borough of Lambeth.

After working in the NHS for over 15 years, in November 2017 Dr Church joined Cygnet Woking as Medical Director and Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist on Oaktree Ward, a Female Low Secure Unit. He is passionate about quality improvement, recovery and involvement of service users and family in care planning and the delivery of services.

Dr Church also has longstanding academic interests in offender health, youth justice, safeguarding and medicolegal aspects of forensic psychiatry including fitness to plead, psychiatric defences, risk assessment and risk management. He is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, and serves on a number of national and international boards and committees.

Dr Olutade Olajitan - Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist

Dr Olajitan is a certified specialist in Psychological medicine (Psychiatry) and Substance misuse (Addictions), he is an International Fellow of The American Psychiatric Association, he hold a diploma in forensic medical science (from The Apothecaries Society, London) as well as a LLM-Diploma in Medical Aspect of Legal Practise from the Cardiff Law School.

Dr. Olajitan is the consultant for Picasso ward (the new female locked rehab unit). Before joining Cygnet he gained a lot of experience of working in the NHS at different grades and in different locations in the UK as well as in private sector. He has been involved in different quality improvement projects in his career which is his special interest as well as medico-legal practice and addiction psychiatry.

Dr. Olajitan is also involved in a different charity project in mental health and has organised and been a guest speaker at events both in the U.K and abroad. He is also a football team manager for a children’s football club.

Dr Charlotte Keeling - Head of Therapies

Dr. Charlotte Keeling is a Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has experience within both the NHS and private services. As the Head of Therapies at Cygnet Hospital Woking she is responsible for the psychological, occupational therapy and social work provision at the hospital.

She has worked in a wide range of mental health services including working for South London and Maudsley Trust, Kings College, Rehabilitation and Forensic Assertive Outreach Team - High Support Team. In addition she also worked at Westways Formulation, Intervention and Recovery Service again for South London and Maudsley Trust, Kings College. She has also worked in an Assertive Outreach Team in Southampton and in the CAMHS adolescent service here at Woking.

She enjoys working predominantly with difficult to engage service users and has a particular interest in Psychosis. Dr. Keeling has an MSc. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manchester. She has further completed a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT for Psychosis at Kings College London. Dr. Keeling leads a coping with voices group here at Cygnet Hospital Woking.

Lindah Munowenyu - Oaktree Ward Manager

Since qualifying as an RMN in 2007 Lindah has gained experience in a variety of setting including; CAMHS, adult mental health settings for low secure, acute and rehab in both the NHS and private health care settings.

Lindah currently works as the ward manager for Oaktree Ward, a low secure for female service users and has been a member of the Cygnet Hospital Woking (formerly known as Alpha Hospitals) since 2007. Current responsibilities include being the link nurse for preceptor nurses.

Julie Fulk - Office Manager

Julie has over 25 years of experience within Customer Services having spent the majority of that time within Informa UK which is an Events & Publishing House which she joined in 1989 as a junior and left in 2007 as a Customer Services Manager (Life Sciences & Documentation Division).

Julie decided to take a change in direction in terms of her career and joined Alpha Hospital in 2009 as a temporary Medical Secretary following a short assignment Julie was taken on as a permanent member of staff and subsequently became the PA to the Medical Director and was then appointed the position of Office Manager.

Giles Spencer - Head Chef & Housekeeping Manager

Giles has been a chef for 16 years. He started off working for Surrey police as a catering assistant in 1999 and was offered the opportunity to go to college to become a chef, he enjoyed the experience immensely and after 3 years joined the Priory in woking as a chef de partie. Giles progressed up the ranks and became sous chef before getting the opportunity to work for Alpha hospital as their head chef. He then continued as Head Chef for Cygnet and has now been working on site for the past 8 years. He is very passionate about his job and has recently become the housekeeping manager to progress further in his career.
