Meet the Team

Glenys Hanlon - General Manager

Glenys has over 25 years of senior management experience, 15 years of which are within the healthcare sector. She has project managed a number of new builds and supported Registered Managers in day to day operations. Glenys has worked at Cygnet Hospital Taunton since 2010 and is responsible for all non-clinical staff and services across the unit including HR, health and safety, budgets and IT systems.

Gemma Worth - Clinical Development Lead

Gemma commenced at Cygnet Hospital Taunton as a Staff Nurse, Clinical Team Leader and more recently was the Ward Manager of rehabilitation services. Gemma continues to have a key role in the clinical care and quality across the hospital and was part of the team that worked towards the most recent CQC inspection. Following the improvements made at Cygnet Hospital Taunton, Gemma was given the role of Clinical Development Lead to help continually improve and develop the services at Cygnet Hospital Taunton.

Nick Dube – Unit Manager, Acute and Learning Disability Services

Nick qualified as a registered mental health nurse at Nottingham University. Prior to training as a nurse, Nick worked as marketing manager after successfully completing his marketing management studies in 1994. Nick also worked as a teacher specialising in commercial subjects. He joined Cygnet in 2006 as a staff nurse. Nick was promoted to Nash Ward manager in 2014. Nick is passionate about providing a responsive service that places its emphasis on the provision of high standards of care tailored to meet all the holistic needs of our service users.

Nick transferred to Cygnet Hospital Taunton in September 2018 to become a key part of the team in managing the opening of the new services which includes our working age male acute ward on Sycamore Ward and the learning disability service Redwood Ward.

Reg Lewis - Social Worker

Reg has been working in the caring profession since 1984 when he began as a House Parent, meeting the social and educational needs of adolescent children with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a residential school setting. Reg worked his way up the ranks to manager over the ten years that he worked at the service. In 1996, he undertook a Diploma in Social Work and qualified in 1998. Following this, he went on to work with a number of client groups, including children, adults with dementia and other vulnerable adults within the community. Reg has a key role in supporting adults with dementia and their families both practically and emotionally during their stay at Cygnet Hospital Taunton.

Diane Ivory - Head of Occupational Therapy

Diane qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2006 and since then has worked with a range of patients in different healthcare settings. Diane has extensive experience in elderly rehab, working age adults, mental health, personality disorder, challenging behaviour in older adults and working with people who have learning disabilities. Diane has a special interest in Falls Prevention and Talking Therapies.

Diane started working for Cygnet in 2010. She developed her career at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke where she became Acting Head of Department. In 2015, Diane moved to Cygnet Hospital Taunton, to become the Head of Occupational Therapy. Diane is excited about the changes and developments that are currently underway at the hospital.
